We are looking forward to another incredible school year for 2017-18. Our Board is busy meeting, planning, and executing in order to provide students, faculty, and DJMS overall with the people assistance and additional financial support it needs to continue to be the best middle school Mansfield has to offer. General PTA meetings will be held on the first Monday of each month, barring holidays, at 7:00pm, beginning September 11, 2017.
PTA is already in full swing, and we invite you to join us—literally. Becoming a member is quick and easy. You can complete our very simple application in seconds, and write a check, pay in cash, or pay online. Our annual dues are low but they go a long way towards helping to pay for special events like student recognition programs, teacher appreciation gifts, pep rally entertainment, and much more. Please visit joinpta.org or send your membership check to school with your student.
PTA Reflections Program Now Accepting Art Submissions
Since 1969, the PTA Reflections program has encouraged students across the nation and in American schools overseas to explore their creativity. Each year, students in preschool through high school are invited to create and submit works of art in the areas of dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography, and the visual arts. In the 2015-2016 school year, Reflections students shared their artistic interpretations on the theme “Let Your Imagination Fly…”
National PTA Reflections submissions are reviewed by experts in the visual, literary and performing arts. Judges look for personal interpretation on the program theme that best exemplify creativity and technical skill. We are proud to share with you this year’s award winning works of art and invite you to join us at future exhibitions.
We are now accepting art submissions, as of October 27th. Please have your student turn their artwork in to our school librarian, Mrs. Rosales, through November 27, 2017.
DJMS will hold a viewing before submissions are sent to the district for judging.
