Start With “HELLO” Week August 30-September 3rd
"Start with Hello Week" celebrates the work of educators, students, and community members in building socially inclusive learning environments for all students. Start with Hello is one of Sandy Hook Promise’s no-cost Know the Signs programs and teaches students to be more socially inclusive and connected to each other.
Monday, August 30: “Hey! Day”- Today, address everyone by their first name. Break out the heys, hi-fives, and smiles and introduce yourself to someone new. Stop by the table to receive your name tag that you will wear all day. Wear as much green as possible.
Tuesday, August 31: “Be the I in Kind”-Today, let’s capture kindness with a SMILE. Stop by the photo booth and take a picture. Wear smiley face or a kindness shirt.
Wednesday, September 1: “Only LOVE can drive out HATE.” -Today, come fill a heart with something you LOVE about yourself. When we love ourselves, it is easy to love others. Wear hearts, red, pink or a combination of all.
Thursday, September 2: “Thankful Thursday”- Today, send a note to someone you appreciate or you are grateful to have in your life. Scan the QR code and your note will be viewable on Padlet.
